Investing in PPC

The marketing industry has experienced a fast growth of PPC. A wide range of companies have decided to abandon their skepticism in order to invest in an innovative internet marketing system that keeps them in the store front of their market segments. The result is that we are seeing more and more quality companies investing big parts of their marketing budget in PPC advertising.

Many of these companies make a common mistake when they believe PPC advertising, as if by magic, generates revenues immediately. This leads to an inappropriately handling of PPC budgets, and consequently, to a more competitive market. The consequences of this overspending tendency may lead to lower profits for everyone.

So, what is the solution to this tendency? The answer is longer vision. Companies should consider PPC as a tool that, in the medium and long term, will adjust to their need as well as provide revenues.

PPC can result in tremendously profitable returns for those who properly administer their budget and play with intelligence in the PPC game.

Good Keywords

I just recently found out about Good Keywords, a FREEware by Softnik Technologies that is aimed to the PPC advertiser. Good Keywords is equipped with a variety of tools that are really useful for any PPC marketer. The FREEware includes: Keyword Suggestion, Misspelled Words, Web Page Explorer, Keyword Phrase Builder, Site & Link Popularity, and a Keyword Organizer.

The Keyword suggestion tool allows you to type a base keyword, and then select the search engine to use for the research (Yahoo, Overture, Teoma). The suggested keyword list will tell you how many searches were made for each specific keyword during the last month. You can also double click any entry in the list for more specific results.

The site & Link Popularity tool is really useful as well. You can type in a domain and the tool will tell you the Alexa rank, Alexa links, Google links, MSN links, Altavista links, and the exact day the website was launched.
This is a great tool to have, and remember it is FREE. To download Good Keywords go to http://www.goodkeywords.com/

PPC becoming more popular

I was talking yesterday with a friend of mine who has become acquaintance with PPC advertising recently. He learned from a book that other types of online advertising do not deliver the same kinds of benefits than PPC does. In fact, PPC advertising is becoming increasingly popular among advertisers and online marketing professionals for a variety of reasons. One of them, and perhaps the most important, is that PPC advertising is less expensive than other kinds or online advertising. Remember that in PPC you don’t actually pay anything until someone actually clicks on your ad. Moreover, research shows that up to 80% of people who are online use either Yahoo or Google. Therefore those people are exposed to PPC ads on a regular basis and, even though they don’t click on your ad, you may have made an impression on that person’s mind at no cost to you.

Pay Per Click Versus Search Engine Optimization

It is a fact that many people have difficulty understanding the different parts of search engine marketing. Therefore, I have decided to write this short article to explain the main differences between Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Pay-Per-Click Marketing (PPC).
SEO is a process of preparing your website and its constituent pages for prime positioning on search engines like Yahoo, Google, or MSN. SEO is very complex, as it changes in a regular basis.
Two good places to learn more are http://www.sembooster.com/ and http://www.searchenginewatch.com/ .
Some of the main differences between SEO and PPC are:
1. Purpose
SEO: to appear as near the top as possible in the search results.
PPC: to instantly attract qualified prospects and convert them into buyers.
2. Keywords
SEO: usually the webmaster wants to target general terms, as they provide the most amount of traffic. You don’t have control over the ranking of your site.
PPC: you have complete keywords over which keywords are used and the position on the end result page.
3. End Result
SEO: depending on your keywords and the resulting ranking you receive in the search engine, you attract free traffic to your website.
PPC: you pay for each visitor you receive, but you can control the number of visitors you get, the landing page to which they are directed, and the keywords being used.
The two processes are quite different in techniques, methods, and execution, but the desired end result is the same. A combination of the two techniques SEO and PPC will bring success to your business.
